Space Travel - Speed of Light

I have been listening to the Hitory Channel and the Scientists say that if you travel along at the speed of light and something passes you flying past at the speed of light, the speed of the object traveling past will only be at the speed of light and I can't believe that. If you look at the start
of all the speeds you will see that it all depends upon wasvelengths and I am sure that ultraviolet is much faster then the speed we use to measure the speed of light. What is going on?

In outer space, the communication range of free-space optical communication using UV light is currently in the order of several thousand kilometers, but has the potential to bridge interplanetary distances of millions of kilometers, using optical telescopes as beam expanders

Secure free-space optical communications have been proposed using a laser N-slit interferometer where the laser signal takes the form of an interferometric pattern. Any attempt to intercept the signal causes the collapse of the interferometric pattern. Although this method has only been demonstrated at laboratory distances, in principle it could be applied over large distances in space.
